Back and neck pain

Whenever possible, your physiotherapist’s first-line technique is manual therapy and then, when pain has significantly decreased, we work on in-depth development of muscles to avoid the problem occurring again.

For ladies:

We treat all types of urinary problems, such as:

  • stress incontinence (when coughing or sneezing)
  • urge incontinence (feeling an urgent need to urinate, with or without leaks)
  • mixed incontinence (a combination of stress and urge incontinence)
  • organ prolapse

All these problems are analysed and treated (working directly on the pelvic floor muscles), combined with an overall approach (reinforcing the abdominal and lumbar muscles).

No one need accept urine leakage, whatever their age or whatever ‘problem’ is affecting them (pregnancy, after childbirth, menopause, old age…).

For men:

Young, active men may experience repeated urge incontinence problems. Some men experience urine leakage after a prostate operation. Pelvic floor muscle training deals with these problems.

For children:

Some children have difficulty going through the night without wetting the bed. This is not worrying until after the age of six, as before this age some children’s bladders are simply immature.

Children may also have sudden urges during the day (feeling a sudden need to urinate, with or without leaks)

Once they are over six years old, children see a physiotherapist with their parents in order to set up good lifestyle habits. If necessary, non-invasive pelvic floor muscle training will help children become more aware of their bladder and realise when they need to urinate.
